I find that using medium and large format films from Kodak ,Ilford, and Foma among others produces a blend of timeless classic “look” and a blend of light and tone not easily found in other media.

Another thing I think is important is the level of surprise, as you never quite know what you’re going to get when you go through the magical process of unfurling the exposed rolls, and souping in developers, fixers, and that final moment of “did I get what I expect?” when unsealing the finished tank to pull the freshly developed films from their chamber.

Without a doubt, there are happy accidents, and the results showing that no two rolls develop exactly the same way (even in C-41) and I am a convert to a quote attributed to Spielberg “what happens in film is chemical magic” or similar (my memory is hazy).

In any event, enjoy and I look forward to adding more personalities to the pages herein.
